Ethnic Church Planting
Ethnic leaders in New York City are partnering together with positive results. Paul Kraus, Intercultural Ministries Director for the New York District and US missionary, conducted an interview with two ethnic pastors under the theme, “Hosting/Hosted Church Partnerships.” Haniff Bacchus, born in Guyana, is the lead pastor of Calvary AG, a multicultural church in a mixed community in Queens, New York. Pervez Khokhar, born in Pakistan, is the hosted Pastor of Sutun E Haqq AG (Pillar of Truth), an Urdu speaking Pakistani/Indian church sharing space with Calvary AG and launching a new Urdu language church plant. Welcoming the Stranger in NYC

Paul Kraus, Intercultural Ministries Director for the New York District and US missionary interviewed Pastor David Hernquist, lead pastor of Van Nest AG in the Bronx, Pastor Benjamin Boakye, lead pastor of Ebenezer AG (the first fully autonomous African (Ghanaian) expression for the AG in NYC that just celebrated its' 20th anniversary), and Pastor Samuel Asiedu, who serves as an AGUSM missionary and president of the National African Ethnic Language Fellowship. These three men of God have developed a deeply rooted partnership which has lead to successful church plants incorporated into the NY Disctrict that are impacting 1st and 2nd generation immigrants living in New York City. Read the article.
